Abstract
In view of the essential operational requirement, the concept of ship operational adaptability towards sea condition has becomes more important. The ship operation and its adaptability is contributed both by its design and type of ship. In hydrodynamics condition, the sea condition adaptability would influence the ship operational status. Therefore, a preliminary calculation need to be done in order to evaluate ship operational adaptability. This research methodology used the calculation of Hydrodynamic and Hydrostatic coefficient using MAXSURF software in the South China Sea sea states condition. The data provided includes the sea keeping, stability and added resistance. Data were analysed using combine Analytical Hierarchy Process (A.HP) and Entropy Weightage Method that aggregate the evaluation of parameters for each criterion and corresponding sub-criteria based on scale provided. The analysis had proved the evaluation parameters that produce a great influence on the result depending on the sea states condition. With OPV 1800 dimension and displacement, its operational adaptability would have marginal impact during Sea State 1 and significant impact on Sea State 7. Therefore, in cooperating the sea condition and ship design, this research will provide an effective decision-making process in tactical or operational tasking of a ship. It can also be used as preliminary assessment before procuring a new warship for operational tasking in South China Sea.
