Abstract
The idea of "full and exclusive sovereignty" as it is defined by international and national law still presents difficulties, particularly in light of Malaysia's efforts to wrest control of the Flight Information Region (FIR) from Singapore. During the British colonial era, Singapore began managing FIR over the Malay region of Johore, which became a portion of Singapore's sovereign state in 1965. However, as a result of the post-colonial mentality, Malaysia has made it lawful by a bilateral agreement with Singapore that was signed in 1974. However, since achieving independence, Malaysia has steadily started to assume control of the FIR till the peak of 2018. The objective of this study is to identify the relevancy of OLOA 1974 and what are the challenges that Malaysia will faced if Malaysia take over back the Flight Information Region which has been delegated to Singapore over the Johore. This research also uses descriptive analysis with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were interviews (structural and unistructural) and literature studies.
